The selection of reamers is based on
the type of material to be worked and the finish
required.
Straight Flute RHC:
Will satisfy the majority of
applications, Will provide accurate hole
sizing and finish. Can be used in through
and blind holes
RHS/RHC:
Improves finish when required. RHS
draws the ships out of the hole to reduce
possibility of scoring wall.
LHS/RHC:
The LHS has a canceling action of the
RHC action. Tool will not be drawn and
loclced into hole. However, the LHS will
push the chips into the hole and should
not be used on blind chips.
The use of coolants is recommended to insure the
best finish possible. Use a heavy coolant flow
to remove chips and provide adequate cooling.
